At Inspire & Empower Canada Network (IECN), we believe that when people come together around a meaningful cause, even small contributions can create lasting impact.

Through IECN Gives Back™ – Fundraising for a Cause, we organize and participate in fundraising initiatives that respond to community needs and support causes that align with our commitment to children, youth, families and stronger communities.

Our fundraising activities may support IECN community initiatives as well as selected external organizations and causes.

Fundraising With Purpose

Every campaign begins with a purpose.

Our fundraising initiatives may help support:

• Children and youth
• Youth experiencing homelessness
• Families experiencing financial hardship
• Food-security initiatives
• Women’s and family shelters
• Community programs
• Health-related causes
• Back-to-school initiatives
• Holiday and seasonal giving
• Emergency community needs
• Other causes aligned with IECN’s mission

How We Fundraise

IECN Gives Back™ may organize a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year.

These may include:

• Community fundraising campaigns
• Online giving campaigns
• Benefit events
• Community dinners
• Walks and other activities
• Raffles or draws where legally permitted
• Donation drives
• Corporate-sponsored campaigns
• Peer-to-peer fundraising
• Special events
• Youth-led fundraising projects

Each campaign will clearly identify its purpose and how the funds or resources raised are intended to be used.

Fundraising for Other Causes

IECN may occasionally select an established charity, hospital, shelter, food program or community organization to support through a designated campaign.

When this happens, IECN will identify the organization or cause being supported and follow any fundraising, donation and branding requirements established by that organization.

Supporting an organization through a campaign does not necessarily mean that the organization is a formal partner of IECN.

Youth Can Make a Difference Too

Fundraising can also be an opportunity to teach young people about leadership, compassion and community responsibility.

Youth participating in IECN programs may have opportunities to help plan and participate in age-appropriate community fundraising and giving initiatives.

They can learn how to identify a community need, develop an idea, work as a team, communicate with the public and see the impact of collective action.

Businesses & Community Sponsors

Businesses can help turn a small community initiative into something much bigger.

Companies and community organizations may support an IECN Gives Back™ fundraising campaign by:

• Sponsoring an initiative
• Making a financial contribution
• Matching employee contributions
• Donating products or services
• Providing a venue
• Sponsoring meals or refreshments
• Promoting a campaign
• Encouraging employees to volunteer
• Hosting a workplace fundraiser
